Usually when we gather round to discuss decor of our house, the garage gets overlooked. Mostly because we don’t sit there or spend a lot of time there. But that doesn’t mean we should completely leave our seasonal garage decor neglected. It can be so much more than just an area to store our tools or car. Some creativity can turn your garage into a beautiful area. You can add some seasonal charm to it. We can offer you some tips and tricks on how to decorate for all te seasons.
How Should You Decorate Your Garage?
There are many different ways you can decorate your garage. You can either take some time on the weekends for this endeavor or choose to only decorate around the holidays-giving a festive look to your place. You can decorate to your heart’s extent or keep a minimalist outlook.
Season 1: Spring
The season of spring gives off a fresh and vibrant outlook. To embrace the true spirit and renew your home’s external beauty, you should opt for the following ideas:
- Try implementing some floral accents. You can purchase floral wreaths or garlands online. Pair them with some potted plants to add a pop of color to your garage. To utilize this in an even better way you can try planting herbs and small edible vegetation in the pots to make your garage seem more seasonal and welcoming.
- Paint your garage door walls with some bright colors but don’t stray too far into the neon spectrum. Go for pastel shades of yellow, blue, or pink to create a calm and airy environment.
- If you want both functionality and beauty then opt for vintage wooden crates, wall hooks, or easily drillable shelves. You can hang your gardening tools on your walls.
Make sure to use this time to clean out and spruce up your garage in this time.
Season 2: Summer
The summers are all about being relaxed, enjoying the vacations, and having bbq lunches with your family. To give a cute and fun vibe to your home you can do the following:
- Opt for a beachy decor. If you and family love to surf you can hang your surfboards on your wall and even decorate with some seashells.
- If you want you can set up a comfortable seating arrangement for all your friends and loved ones. You can even set up a faux bbq pit in the middle to grill marshmallows or make steaks.
- Our team at ‘Clark’s Garage Door and Gate Repair’ would suggest that you opt for blue tones; navy and dark blue with some stripped white would look lovely.
Season 3: Fall
The fall and autumn season gives off a warm, cozy, and rustic vibe. Don’t you want that to be reflected in your garage door’s aesthetics? As the leaves turn orange, don’t let your garage be the only thing that stays stagnant in the past. Do the following to bring a rustic vibe to your home too.
- Just as we did above for summers, you can make or purchase wreaths from orange and golden leaves. Maybe hit the thrift stores to pick up some decorative pumpkins that you could paint and place outside your garage.
- You can buy yellow-toned LED lights – rope or strip lights in particular that will bathe your garage in warm tones.
- We would suggest that you use earthy toned paints such as deep orange, gold, mud brown, or deep yellow.
Season 4: Winter
Winters come with the holiday spirit. With Thanksgivings, New Year, and Christmas all rolled into one, you should look into revamping your garage to make it more festive and joyous. You can do the following to achieve this look:
- Holiday lights are the best and most budget friendly way to achieve the aesthetic you want.
- Buy some snowflake decor and string them up around the garage for a festive look.
- Build a snowman obviously!
- Maybe get some plush rugs or a soft couch to bring a touch of softness and comfort to you place.
Your garage is more than just a storage area for your vehicles and extra junk. It can be a sitting area, a makeshift cinema, even an office space. It depends on you how you can make it a seasonal beacon of joy.
